Sleep Is A Luxury

When I was still a grade schooler, my mom would force me to sleep every afternoon and early at night even if I don't feel like to. And when she's not around, my aunt would do the same. I asked my aunt why they have to do that to me. I expected to hear "For you to get taller". Instead she said:

"Sleep is a luxury for us working people. So when I tell you to go to sleep, you better."

I took my chances to sleep whenever I can for granted. I chose to play outside or watch my favorite cartoon in the afternoon. I only understood her when I eventually entered college. It is when I have to accomplish a lot of school work in just a small span of time, I have to sleep late or sleep early than usual just to finish an assignment or to study for an examination. Worse, I have to sacrifice my sleep just to finish a major project and meet the deadline.

But thank God! The first semester in my senior year just ended! It was was hell awful than the previous semesters I had! And since it's finally sembreak I can have that luxury now!

Oh yeaaaaaah!

Seen 9:40 AM

I want to bring back those days when all instant messaging don't notify people if their messages have been read, when "seen zoned" doesn't exist. I guess only e- mails and regular text messaging don't have that. YET.

Why?

Because people will start questioning you:

"Why didn't you reply to my message. I know you read it"

"What's taking you long to reply when you are able to see it there and then"

"Why why why?????????????"

Sometimes, they will even flood you messages because they know you're reading those until you finally reply to them.

Worst case scenario, they'll get hurt. They'll jump to conclusions of why you won't reply as soon you read their messages. Because of these, you are pressured to respond immediately, because they're already demanding for your time and it is really annoying when the truth is:

1.) You really don't want to reply to their messages because those aren't important.

2.) If you're the kind of person who is on work mode like me, you'll only have split seconds to read their messages, but have no minute to give a reply.

3.) You can't send a message yet, because you're trying to confirm something to someone before you get back to them OR

4.) You're still thinking of what to answer back especially if that's a serious question.

It's really better if they don't know whether you have read their messages or not. The demand isn't that much. You are also not pressured to send back a message immediately. And by "You" meant ME.

I Have Failed This... Dream

Do you watch the Arrow? The guy who says, "You have failed this city", every time he catches a bad guy?

I dreamed about him last night as himself, Stephen Amell. He was in our country having a mall tour. And I was there at the very first row of the seats. The weird thing was, we were only less than 20 people who went to that mall tour. However, that's better because I was able to talk to him longer and asked a picture with him. He said, "Sure pretty babe. Let's have as many as you want". He hugged me so tightly and he even kissed me on my forehead and I didn't see that coming! The guy who was taking our picture was very jolly and I almost wanted to ask a picture with him too.

It felt so real I even checked my phone as soon ad I woke up! And as expected, my pictures with Stephen weren't there :(((

What a disappointment. I should have stayed asleep. I wanted more time with my celebrity crush :((( sigh.

It all started with a lemon and now I sticked to DIY natural beauty products

I used to have acne problems back when I was still a teenager. I tried almost every product that will help remove my acne. I've also been to a derma clinic, but none helped me solve my problem. I'm about to accept the fact that they will never disappear until "Rated K", a magazine show hosted by Korina Sanchez, featured a topic related to acne. From there, I found out that just an application of pure lemon extract on your face (well, she dipped a cotton ball) every night before you go to sleep will dry the acne instantly.

I've got nothing to lose but a few pesos to buy a lemon. So the next dat I went to a supermarket, bought one and tried it at home.

Guess what! It worked! I consistently applied lemon for a week and and it's like something magical happened to my face!  I really couldn't believe it! My face is finally pimple free! I should have discovered this earlier! I regret spending a lot of money for those facial cleansers that didn't work from the past. However, what the tv show didn't mention is that it hurts every time you apply lemon on your face. There is this certain reaction when you just want to scratch your face but you can't. You'll get used to it eventually. And I guarantee that you'll get good results too.

Because of that one natural ingredient- lemon, my perspective has changed. I stopped buying commercial shampoos, moisturizers and scrubs. I replaced them all with my DIY natural beauty products. They showed better results than those products that you see on television. Not only that, I am able to save more money because the ingredients I needed are way much cheaper than the commercialized.

Now, if you ask me what I use for as a shampoo, I'd say a BAKING SODA. As for my body scrub, I use BROWN SUGAR w/ EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL.  For my facial moisturizer, I apply a dip of pure HONEY and of course my facial cleanser, LEMON.

I'm still doing a research to use as a lotion. And with the help of eating lots of fruits and  vegetables, I can say I AM ALL NATURAL.

If you have the same problem as mine, give a DIY NATURAL BEAUTY PRODUCT a try! ;)

A Copywriter's Creative Resume

Today, I presented my creative resumé in class as a final exam. The goal is to sell myself as a copywriter. And after excellently presenting it to the panelists, who have high positions in the advertising industry in my country, I also gained confidence to share my work to you.

I made my resumé looked like a salad recipe book. And from the cover page you will immediately find out what kind of person I am and what principles and values I hold in life. For those who don't know me yet, I am a senior communication student graduating few months from now, and just because I do not major in visual design doesn't mean I cannot execute something like this.

So... why a salad recipe book?

I personally love salads, green and fruit ones. And I believe I am a salad. It has several vibrant colors that exactly represents who I am, for I am an energetic person who can contribute abundant and fresh ideas for a given project, and that's just what a copywriter should have. In addition, I promote health and fitness to everyone (A passion I'll always live by).

"Inside are the fresh ingredients I have that will give you a reason why you should hire me as a copywriter", I confidently said. I know one of the panelists was impressed when he said, "You are now hired!"

Below is the first page of my recipe book. I extended my concept inside by placing variety of salads in each page. This is also where I placed the summary of the contents. And since this book is less than 10 pages, I changed the paging with the image of salads instead of the usual numbers.

"I want people to know me as the young fit copywriter. Young means new and fresh; and Fit is synonymous to capable and competent. And a copywriter like me have them all!"

The next two pages are basically my objective, summary of qualification, and work experience.

Inside are just a few of my works; such as product description, concept statements, movie poster, flyers, copies, tv scripts, radio scripts, short stories, commercials, media kit and done productions.

The last page is where I placed my interests in an article type (I also dream of being featured in a magazine someday, you know! ).

et voilà! A creative resumé! I hope you liked it too :))) And to those who are searching for a creative resumé, I hope this inspires you :)))
