Feel good, you'll look better

It is really true! When you feel good, like when you're simply in your comfortable clothes or you aced an exam or just having a good mood, you are absolutely going to look better! If so, don't miss the chance to take a picture of yourself wearing your bright smile. Just like what I did! I believe that it helps to remind me why I should always keep my mind positive everyday. You know, self-motivation.

So, if you want to look young and vibrant just like me, you should also start being optimistic, and the rest will follow.

Try it! Optional, but highly recommended ;)

@ St. Michael's Retreat House

At last, I'm home!

I had an overnight stay at Saint Michael's for the seniors' retreat.

I won't make this too vulgar because the speaker said so.

The retreat house is big, clean and peaceful. I was one of the students to be assigned at the clergy room.
No gadgets were allowed so I didn't bring my phone.

We started yesterday at 10 in the morning. Our sessions and other activities were fun. We talked a lot about our parents, family and God. Few about choosing the right friends. I was very emotional inside that session room. I had two handkerchiefs, both soaked in wet. I can't help but to cry. Tears kept falling. They were not tears of sadness, but of happiness. I know for so long that I am very lucky in life. I tried to stop the tears but didn't worked out, i'm just really such a crybaby.

We ended our activity last  night around 10:30. My roommates and I didn't sleep as soon as we entered the clergy room. We had our midnight snack, talked more, and I took a bath even I'm shivering in cold. I was only able to sleep for 4 hours or less.

By 6:15 in the morning, today, the mass had started and i am blessed to be chosen as the 2nd reader and felt more better because I was able to give service this Sunday even if  I'm not with my family together at the church.

We've shared so many stories, listened to their problems, prayed for each other and so much more. I just have to leave them there.

For the second time of my life, after 4 years, I have revived my spiritual and mental health. My heart has recovered from all the pain in the past and was healed by God. I feel so refreshing, accomplished, complete and thankful!

I got home safe and sound around 11:30 in the morning bringing the joy from the retreat house to my own home.

God is so good! :)

My plans this coming summer vacation

I always have something in mind, who doesn't?
Part of it is planning different activities this coming summer vacation so I won't get bored while I'm away from school.

These are the list of the possible things that may happen throughout this summer:

1. Print my own designed shirt.
I really wanted to have one a long time ago. I just need resources and money, and hopefully I will have them.
Have a preview of what I have drawn for my own T-shirt (:
If you can notice they are all different names,
I have included my full name and the nicknames
my friends keep calling me,
and the largest one is my pseudo name.

At the back of the shirt is how people will recognize me (:

2. Finish my unfinished novel.
The book is entitled SPY PRINCESS: THE RICH MAN'S SECRET.
A friend of mine had given me an idea of what will be the outlook of the cover. I am thankful for her willingness. Now, all I have to do is to edit some of it. Look below.
(Hmm.. better if I am that one in the cover.)

3. Keep my body in shape.
I just want to be more productive, healthier, sexier, and hot! err.... too much?
In short, I just want to keep my body in shape ( and eat more healthy foods) (:

 4. Enroll in a baking/ cooking class.
It would be so much fun. I need to practice more in cooking, it's a shame if my fiancĂ©e will ask me to cook something and I don't know how. Haha! And besides it's good to impress someone that you know a lot of things, and meeting new people from that place means exposing yourself in this happy world!

5. Read and collect more books!
I'm a book addict, I can't deny it. It's one reason why I had the urge in making one on my own.

6. Expand more my vocabulary and learn Spanish.
I know I still need to practice more in order to have something better (:

... and those are just some of what I am planning. I'll tell you more when I have a new idea.

Have a nice day!

Selling Raffle Tickets to the Grade 4 Students

Remember my post last Wednesday?

These are the photos of the grade 4 pupils who loved to be included in the picture taking.

 (Me, at the right side)

 (Poor Janred, he was pushed)

(LOL. The kid covered us at the back)

If everyday was like that, I'm sure all my stress will be gone easily when I arrive home (:

I love those kids!

Exhausting Wednesday!

This morning we sell last minute raffle tickets to the elementary students so it would be sold out.
As we reached their rooms, many grade 4 students were already waiting for us to buy those tickets.

While collecting their payments and waiting for their stubs I asked Janred to bring out his digital camera and take pictures of what I and the other officers are doing.

The pupils saw the gadget, and because they are KIDS,  they started to compress and  pushed themselves just to be included in the picture. It was like a stampede, but they were all happy and smiling so widely. We all had a wonderful group picture together, and because of them the tickets were sold out.

We were able to earn 1,500.00 pesos today, plus the money we earned last Monday and Tuesday. amazing, huh? But we were so haggard and sweating out going to different rooms just to sell those tickets, not to mention that the sun is up so hot.

After achieving making the raffle tickets sold out, we started fixing our booth, ours is Marriage booth.

In order to wed couples, other students will list their friends' names and who they will be wed with. Then the Marchall, us, have to find, chase and catch them in order to bring them to our booth. But that was never been easy. They will hurt you, bite you, make themselves escape in order to be free from us and won't let themselves get married to the one they are partnered with, especially when they hate that person.

It was so exhausting! My black shoes were also destroyed because of the never ending chase with those crazy students. Phew!

At least it was enjoying!

Oh, and, this was the last they of the booth fair and will be the last time for us seniors to have this kind of event. No more like this in college.

I'm going to miss this fun and adventure!

It's time for a check-up.

"If it isn't broken, don't fix it." It sounds innocent enough, but I've been thinking about this phrase for a few weeks now and how misguiding it can be. Are we really supposed to wait until something in our life is broken before we fix it, before it gets some attention or maintenance?

I don't understand how some people can find this mantra to be valuable. With such a mindset one is expected to believe that the world will take care of itself and there's no need to step in and take action until something is wrong. What does such an attitude say about one's:
friendships
marriage
health
house
vehicle
(insert something really important to you right here)
?

We need to care for and be good stewards of all that we have. This means constantly working and striving to keep it at its best. It's much easier and less costly (financially, spiritually, physically, and mentally) to maintain something over the course of its life than to clean up its broken pieces. Yes, that does mean work, but the downside of letting anything valuable in our lives slip through our fingers is that it is not guaranteed that it will be able to be fixed or replaced should something damaging happen to it.

Just saying.

that feeling.

It's like butterflies in your heart. It's not out of nervousness or anxiety. It's just a gentle fluttering. It's that moment in time when you feel loved. It's that spot where you feel content. It's that point where all feels right with the world and you don't even care if you die. It's also a feeling of timelessness. I really don't know how else to describe it, but it's just this feeling deep in my marrow. It's like feeling the past, present, and future all at the same time and it's pure bliss.

I'm not sure how often it happens, but I know that it doesn't happen so often that it becomes ordinary. This is everything but ordinary.

The good part

Ok, so I had a previous post before this. I haven't ended well the story. I didn't feel bad at all, I realized.

Janus, driving back all the loads in our garage, with me by his side, having a little conversation.

I saw a photo inside his wallet the other day. It's a photo wearing his Army uniform and he's really handsome.

So when he got his wallet to show his license to the guard at the guardhouse, I saw the photo one more time and said, "How cute you are in there."

He smiled back at me and said,"aa. This picture is to frighten the rats. You can have it."

I dunno what to say and I started to blush.

Finally, this is all what I've been waiting for. He made my mood back to normal. He made me smile.

Jamie Solano: Her Happy Feeling

So Glad ... Inside ... that little flame of hope in my heart, blazing bright in me, drowning the darkness, Hope ... I've finally found you ... faith ... thank you for helping me find hope ... the world ... so full of life ... I don't need to be always in front of the computer ... I'm sure "He" is praying for me ... I know I can and will meet him, so, I can help him in return, to help him as he helped me ... to share a conversation face to face, to share the light of hope ... If I study hard enough, I will find you, I'm always here to listen, as the clouds drift in the clear blue sky and the moon that shares its warm moon beams at night ... always here, listening ...

I know that he doesn't mean to hurt me ... I know he loves me and I love him ... I'll be waiting ... right here, waiting for his return ... I know now ... I'll be alright for I am loved ...

thumbs up for my friend! She's good in expressing her feelings.

I decided to post her notes I saw in her paper she owned.

P.S. I asked permission if I can post this. She allowed me :)

Jamie Solano: Her Sad Feeling

So empty ... Inside ... that a little flame of hope in my heart, faded away into the darkness ...
Hope ... Where are you? Faith ... Please help me find hope ... the world ... so hollow ...
I wish I'm always in front of the computer ... "He" is always there to listen ... I wish I could meet him, so he can comfort me always, like he always does every night ... We always chat in the evening, always there to listen ... Someday I will find you ... I hope ... Always there, like the sun in the morning and the stars at night ... there waiting for me ...

He hurts me with his texts ... I know he loves me but .. he's leaving me ...

He's leaving me behind ... I don't know anymore ... I'm alright, just needed to cry to remove the pain.

Monday with Dad

At last, after a long time I was able to blog again!

Last October 4, 2010, our country celebrated WORLD TEACHERS' DAY, and because of that there's no classes! Hooray.

We, siblings, accompanied dad to go to the doctor to laser his right eye that day. We waited for almost 4 hours for him to finish. After that we had lunch at Tokyo Tokyo. After everything, we went to the mall and brought our little brother to the barbers. He felt anew and comfortable since it is his first time to visit a barber inside the mall.

After my brother's haircut, we went to the cinema and watched a 3D movie, The legend of the Guardians. It was really a nice movie because many values can be learned out of it. It's also amazing watching that with your love ones.

So I took some pics while it's still not starting:

End of the story.

to catch a butterfly.

happiness is like a butterfly:
the more you chase it, the more it will elude you,
but if you turn your attention to other things it will come
and sit softly on your shoulder....

says the status at my twitter. a direct message, from my dearest friend. Thanks for the encouragement. the words typed in there, they didn't seem long to me anymore. it was heartfelt.

inside me, there was a subtle, silent confidence. but even more to it, there was self doubt; as contradictive as it sounds. right now, instead of pushing hard to change who i am, i decided to take a slight step back. to absorb all that is around me. just by opening my mind, i was able to experience the difference.
now, i am preparing to open my heart, to believe that i can. even more sincerely this time. now, are you with me?

Do the Physics

The Law of Gravity -- "objects with mass attract one another". Simple. We got it. Thanks.

The force of gravity is defined by Newton's formula:

F=Gm1m2/d2

In this formula, F is the force of gravity, G is a constant (the Gravitational Constant) which can be measured, m1 and m2 are the masses of the two objects in question, and d is the distance between them. And there you can see that gravity follows the inverse square law. Nice!

Okay, now the brilliant Stephen Hawking has just been quoted as saying, "Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing." Clear enough. So we have gravity (given) and we have nothing (given), so let's put it in the formula and see what we get.

F=((6.67300 × 10-11 m3 kg-1 s-2) x 0 x 0)/0. The answer? Yeah, I don't think we need a calculator to figure that out. Not so brilliant!

My heart is in pain

I can't remember when was the last time I felt hurt, I mean my heart. Maybe because that time when I was younger I found out that my crush had someone in his heart already. Yes. I felt hurt for that stupid crush. And that was a long time ago.

It's totally different today, I'm not a baby or a kid anymore. I'm growing up, as a teen. And crushes are not a big deal for me anymore.

I felt hurt for someone who I really love, not just an ordinary crush anymore. Someone who is really special to me. Someone I fell for.

Even tough I'm a little sad of what happened, I know this will pass away since we have talked clearly about our situation.

We are mutually bound. We love each other but we can't be together. He said it is not the right time for both of us.

This is what he said, " Remember what I'll say. Study, Meet people, enjoy your life and if you can live your life as if I'm not part of it. I don't want to be a hindrance to your life."

I cried, of course, for a while. But now I think it is healing.

Thanks for my mother's guidance. Without her, maybe I'll feel more hurt than ever.

'Till next time,
Erica

The Hero and the Pet

Mom is sick today.

I feel so sorry for her.

She always drives us everywhere we go. Especially when we go to Cavite. It is a far place from our home. It takes 2 hours to arrive there.

Mom was so tired doing her daily tasks, now that she didn't have her full rest, She got cold.

She drives the whole family when we want to visit the camp to see Janus (and went there today and hugged him so tightly, what an experience!).

she can't sleep while driving when we leave the house so early in the morning, while us, passengers, can sleep until we reach the place we are going.

I hope she feels better tomorrow.

oh, and babe, our pet puppy, just died when we came back home this night. She didn't bark when we parked the car, she didn't move when we called her name, we haven't heard anything from her. Poor doggie.

My sister cried because her one and only pet left her without saying goodbye. Babe was with us for 3 and a half month.

(sigh).

Problems, you can never avoid them.

(sigh).

Nature and its best

We went to Cavite this morning, my aunt's home place.

Earlier before we reach my aunt's house we had a problem with the air condition of our car, so we decided to open the window.

Luckily, there's no traffic at the highway, or else, We'll intake smoke vehicles.

I enjoyed the blow of the wind in my face, how my hairs fly away, and how fast mom is driving at the long way.

I feel free, I feel alive, I feel like a kid, and I feel God.

I missed the old times enjoying nature. The parks, the gardens, the flowers, the birds that are singing and the giggles of the children running around.

So, I asked mom to have picnic together with my cousins at the park. And we did.

there's something hilarious happened too.

My sister's registered name is "Patricia". She decided to have a horseback riding with my younger cousins. They went to the pen and picked the horse they wanted to ride. coincidentally, the horse was named the same as my sister. The color of the horse is white and it is fat. While my sister has a dark complexion, and also fat. Here's what happened.

Patricia (my sister): "Ate Jerin, Why don't you ride at the pad of the horse, it my get hurt because you are heavy when you sit there."

Guide: "Don't worry about that, Patricia is fat!"

Jerin: hahahaha.. !

nice laughtrip with the whole family

Amen!

What he doesn't know

1. I keep his t-shirt inside my closet.

2. I always wait for his messages every morning 'til night

3. I daydream about him everyday.

4. Wishing to visit us (especially ME) often.

5. Staring at his photos all the time.

6. Showing off to my friends.

7. Planning what to do when he is around

8. I want to hug him every time we meet

9. I want to have a heart to heart talk with him.

10. I have my own private diary about him only.

He is more than an addictive drug to me. What does he has that makes me fall in love so much? What does he keeps my mind that makes me have high grades in classes?

I wanna know WHAT.

F=Gm1m2/d2

F=((6.67300 × 10-11 m3 kg-1 s-2) x 0 x 0)/0. The answer? Yeah, I don't think we need a calculator to figure that out. Not so brilliant!
